Paul Sample defended his thesis!

Oh, now how sweet:
...the taste of that post-defense Strawberry Delight Cake!

This is pre-defense-Paul...

Oh, and what a great surprise to see Dr. Valerie de Crecy-Lagard in the audience!

RoboOligo
This python-based computer program converts raw data file from UV-Vis spectrum reads versus time into a corresponding plot. The resulting output file allows the user to click on the front and back bases of a peak to prompt the program to process all of the spectrum reads that lie between two selected points. RoboOligo then generates a spectrum profile with background subtracted, averaged and normalized data points, and curve smoothing using the Savitsky-Golay algorithm.  This has really been a collaborative effort between the Alfonzo Lab and Kirk Gaston from the Limbach Lab with our shared interest in analyzing RNA nucleosides.

     Congratulations, Dr. Paul Sample!
Currently, breaking good
              ... & westward-bound to Seattle!

Our best wishes to you, Paul!
P.S. Paul, you still owe us...a few things you know what! ;)
